Welcome!

Our aim is to bring a relaxed yet exciting event to Umeå, showcasing the incredible breweries that make up part of the beer scene in Sweden today. Our whole event will be dedicated to breweries from across Sweden, bringing together expertise and creativity for a weekend of beer related fun. Although this is our first year, we aim to grow and put our mark on the map of the brewing community. Our event will cater to the whole spectrum of beer fans, from beginners to experts alike.

The 2024 edition of Umeå Beer Festival takes place on the 12th and 13th of April at Umeå Folkets Hus, with the festival split into 3 sessions, each with a maximum of 450 people.

Friday 4pm-10pm - Red Session

Saturday 11am-4pm - Green Session

Saturday 5pm-10pm - Blue Session


Hot food and snacks will be available for purchase from the bar area in case you get hungry while attending the event. A cloak room will be available for visitors to leave their belongings during their visit. Tastings will be held during each session but these will require a separate ticket so make sure you grab your tickets early as places will be limited!

Beer samples are purchased using beer coupons, which can be purchased via card or swish in the main entrance. A booklet of 10 coupons costs 250kr and a beer sample can vary in size up to 10cl. Umeå Beer Festival is a cashless event.

The age limit for the festival is 18+ and ID will be required at the entrance. Tickets are not personal and can be transferred to another adult.

Umeå Beer Festival is a strong supporter of diversity and co-operation. We welcome all genders, ages and nationalities to our festival. Intolerance, bullying or discrimination will not be tolerated and will result in offenders being removed from the festival. We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcomed in the festival, and we look forward to a relaxed event with diversity and fun for everyone.

We are proud to announce that we will also have an alcohol free bar, sponsored by Spendrups, from where every guest will be given one free sample.

Tastings

We will be holding tastings and workshops during the festival.
Tickets for these events are sold seperately and are not included in the price of the entrance ticket. To attend one of the tastings or workshops, you need an entrance ticket for any of the sessions.
For example, you can attend a tasting or workshop on the Friday even if you have a festival entrance ticket for the Saturday or vice versa.

Beer Battle

The battle begins! The breweries are invited to join in a competition to decide which beer will be crowned champion of the festival. Beers will be split into different style classes, with the winners of the groups going head to head to claim the ultimate prize of Beer Battle Champion! The judging panel will consist of hand picked sommeliers from Umeå Folkets Hus.

Beer sommelier and founder of Umeå Beer Club, Dave has worked in the beer industry for 20 years and has held over 100 beer tastings since 2018.

Hanna Eriksson

Sommelier

With a passion for the drinks industry, Hanna is a Lily Bollinger award winning sommelier who regularly holds sold out wine tastings.

Pelle Normark

Sommelier

With 30 years of sommelier experience in Michelin star Stockholm restaurants, Pelle is a winner of silver medals in the Guldbricken waiter of the year awards.
